NCERT Introduces Rationalised Syllabus for Class 12 Across All Streams for 2023-2024 Session

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has recently introduced a rationalised syllabus for class 12 students across all streams for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic session. The updated version of history textbooks, along with other subjects, is now available on the NCERT website.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020’s focus on reducing content load and promoting experiential learning, NCERT has rationalised the syllabus for class 12. Factors such as content overlapping, difficulty level, and current relevance have been considered during this exercise.

While some schools have already implemented the revised syllabus, others may choose to follow the same. The introduction of the rationalised syllabus for class 12 by NCERT has sparked discussions among educators, students, and parents regarding its impact on the curriculum and learning outcomes.

As the implementation of the rationalised syllabus for class 12 progresses, stakeholders are curious to understand its effects on students’ academic development.

NCERT’s decision to rationalise the syllabus across all streams for class 12 has raised questions and debates about the effectiveness of the exercise and its implications for students’ education.
