The Education Department (SED) has announced that the results of the class 8th examination for all schools in Kashmir and Jammu will be declared simultaneously.

The Principal Secretary (SED), Alok Kumar, mentioned that the delay in announcing the results for soft zone areas is due to the ongoing class 8th examination in Jammu, which is scheduled to end on April 8.

The results of the 8th class will be announced after 8 April. He further explained that they have adopted a Uniform Academic Calendar, which means that the results should be declared on the same day.

The class 8th examination started on February 27 and ended on March 10 for soft zone areas of Kashmir and Jammu. The exam in hard zone areas started on March 24 and is still ongoing. Although the exams in soft zone areas have been completed, the announcement of results has been delayed.

An official at SCERT Kashmir stated that they compiled the result for soft zone areas on March 20, but they are waiting for official approval to declare it.

Meanwhile, parents of the students in soft zone areas have been demanding the declaration of results, as their kids have been sitting idle since the exams ended in early March, and no class work has started in schools for 9th-grade students.
