Winter Vacation For Primary Classes In Kashmir Announced

Srinagar, Nov 22: Responding to the growing demand for early winter vacations due to challenging weather conditions, authorities in Kashmir are likely to announce a break for primary level classes starting from November 25, according to official sources.

The decision is under serious consideration, and an official stated, “Most likely, winter vacations up to 5th standard will be from November-25.”

The plan is to commence winter vacations for other classes in a phased manner.

Middle classes are expected to start their vacations after the first week of December, followed by high and secondary level classes in the second week of December.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, assured that the decision on winter vacations for schools in Kashmir would be announced in a day or two, emphasizing the careful consideration of various factors.

He highlighted that the vacation dates would be disclosed gradually, with primary schools closing first, followed by middle and higher schools.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, mentioned that the authorities are closely monitoring factors such as the syllabus and other essential elements before making a decision on early winter vacations.

He stated, “The matter of winter vacation is being highly considered, and we are also keeping tabs on the syllable and other important factors before announcing an early winter vacation.”
