The School Education Department in Jammu has announced an extension of the winter break for schools in the summer zone due to the ongoing cold weather.
The break, which was originally scheduled to last from December 26 to January 4, will now be extended until January 15.
The extension applies to both government and private schools in the region, with the exception of those students and staff who are involved in preparations for Republic Day celebrations, who will continue rehearsals as planned.
The Director of School Education Jammu has stated that any laxity in following the extended break by any school will be taken seriously and dealt with according to rules.
In a previous order, the department had instructed all teachers to be available for online guidance to students during the winter break period.
