94 Faculty and 244 Non-Faculty Posts for AIIMS Kashmir

In a groundbreaking development, the Government of India has taken a momentous step to enhance healthcare services in the picturesque region of Kashmir. This bold move entails the creation of 94 faculty posts and 244 non-faculty posts for the upcoming All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kashmir.

Active Government Initiative

Underlining the commitment to bolster healthcare infrastructure, the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued a resolute directive to establish these crucial faculty and non-faculty positions for AIIMS Awantipora. This monumental decision has received the official sanction of the President of India, affirming its significance.

Powering AIIMS, Awantipora

This endeavor is set in motion under the aegis of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), a visionary healthcare scheme. The Ministry’s directive encompasses a comprehensive range of positions vital for the smooth functioning of AIIMS, Awantipora.

Faculty Augmentation

The heart of any academic institution lies in its faculty, and AIIMS, Awantipora, is no exception. The Ministry’s order includes the creation of two posts each for professors and additional professors, along with five posts for associate professors. Additionally, a significant number of 85 posts for assistant professors will contribute to the academic strength of the institution.

Non-Faculty Roles

Apart from faculty members, non-faculty staff plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of any medical facility. Out of the 244 non-faculty posts, a substantial 100 posts have been allocated for nursing officers (Staff Nurse Grade II) at Level-7, ensuring a high standard of patient care. Furthermore, 50 positions each for senior residents and junior residents will provide essential support to the clinical and administrative functions of AIIMS, Awantipora.
