Transfers and Postings of Police Officers in Jammu and Kashmir

In a recent government order, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced transfers and postings of several police officers in the interest of administration. The order, numbered 176-Home of 2023 and dated April 7, 2023, takes immediate effect.

Shri Paramjeet Singh, who was serving as the Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) Railways in Jammu, has been transferred and posted as Addl. SP Kathua, replacing Shri Suresh Kumar.

Shri Suresh Kumar, who was serving as Addl. SP Kathua, has been transferred and posted as Vice Principal of PTS (Police Training School), Kathua, against an available vacancy.

Shri Sandeep Bhat, who was serving as the Deputy Commandant of the 1st Women Battalion, has been transferred and posted as Addl. SP Bandipora, against an available vacancy.

Shri Imtiaz Ahmed, who was serving as Dy.SP PC Sangam, has been transferred and posted as Dy.SP (Ops.) Kunzer, replacing Shri Aumer Iqbal. Shri Imtiaz Ahmed will also hold the additional charge of SDPO Tangmarg until further orders.

Shri Aumer Iqbal, who was serving as Dy.SP (Ops.) Kunzer, has been transferred and posted as Dy.SP of the IR-10th Battalion, against an available vacancy.

Shri Rashid Younis, who was serving as Dy.SP Hqrs Kupwara, has been transferred and posted as Dy.SP of the IR-8th Battalion, against an available vacancy.

Shri Mohammad Usman, who was serving as Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, has been transferred and posted as Dy.SP of the IR-22nd Battalion, against an available vacancy.

Shri Hamid Ali Banday, who was serving as Dy.SP of the Anti Corruption Bureau, has been posted as Dy.SP of PC Surankote, replacing Tanveer Jeelani, upon his repatriation from the ACB.

Shri Sourabh Prashar, who was serving as Dy.SP (Prov.) at the Police Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as Dy.SP (Hqrs.) Samba, replacing Shri Mohd. Usman.

These transfers and postings of police officers are aimed at ensuring smooth administration and effective law enforcement in the region. The government expects the officers to discharge their duties diligently and uphold the rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir.
