The School Education Department (SED) in Jammu and Kashmir, India has launched a new initiative aimed at improving the monitoring of the education system in the region. To achieve this, the department has introduced two new technologies, the “JK Attendance App” and the SAMIKSHA portal.

The JK Attendance App is designed for the online attendance of teachers in the department. With this app, the department will be able to track the real-time attendance of employees with respect to their exact location and time. This is made possible through the use of Geo-tagging and face recognition technology.

The SAMIKSA portal, on the other hand, has been introduced to receive online feedback from students. The portal will be used to collect feedback from students about their teachers and schools.

Before the formal launch of these new technologies, the department will run a trial to test and resolve any technical issues. The Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has written to all the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) requesting their cooperation in starting the trial in Zonal Offices and schools. The school heads and Zonal Education Officers have been asked to provide full cooperation during the trial run to ensure its success.

The goal of the initiative is to ensure proper monitoring of the educational system across the UT of J&K. The department hopes that the success of the trial run will pave the way for the formal launch and eventual implementation of these technologies in all schools in the region.

The launch of the JK Attendance App and SAMIKSHA portal is a step forward for the School Education Department in improving the monitoring of the education system in Jammu and Kashmir.
