DySp Officer Arrested on Multiple Charges in Srinagar
In a significant development, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySp) officer, Sheikh Aadil Mushtaq (KPS), has been arrested by Srinagar police on various charges. This arrest comes following a thorough search of the officer’s residence located near the BSNL exchange in Sanathnagar, Srinagar.
Reports indicate that during the search operation, conducted earlier this week, several items were seized, including documents and a laptop, along with other electronic devices. Subsequently, the officer was subjected to questioning in connection with an ongoing case.
The arrest of DySp Sheikh Aadil Mushtaq (KPS) was officially confirmed by Srinagar police on Thursday.
He has been booked under FIR no 149 of 2023, which lists charges under sections 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, and 221 of the Indian Penal Code. Additionally, he faces charges under section 7 and 7A of the Corruption Act.
The case is now under further investigation at the police station in Nowgam, as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding the arrest and the alleged charges against the officer.
