Jammu and Kashmir Government Fills Over 25,000 Vacancies

Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, announced that 25,450 vacancies in various government departments in Jammu and Kashmir have been filled until December 2022. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, he said that the recruitment process was conducted in a transparent manner and is a continuous effort under the Accelerated Recruitment Drive.

Rai stated that the government has taken several measures to reduce unemployment by implementing various self-employment schemes such as Mission Youth, Rural Livelihood Mission, Himayat, PMEGP, Avsar, and Tejaswani. These schemes aim to provide employment opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Periodic Labor Force Survey conducted by the National Sample Survey Office, the unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir for the age group 15-29 years was 18.3% from July 2020 to June 2021. However, specific unemployment rate data for educated youth in the region is not available.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir is taking various initiatives to reduce unemployment and provide job opportunities to the citizens of the region. The ongoing recruitment drive is a step in the same direction, and the government aims to fill more vacancies in the future.
