Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that common people and the poor would not be affected by the ongoing drive to retrieve state land from encroachers in Jammu & Kashmir

Sinha stated that the government is focused on protecting the interests of the poor

He mentioned that influential people have misused their positions to encroach on state land in violation of laws
Sinha also mentioned that there were directions from the High Court to retrieve state land from encroachers

On January 9, the J&K government directed all deputy commissioners to ensure 100% removal of encroachments from State land by January 31, 2023

Sinha also commented on holding assembly polls in Jammu & Kashmir, stating that the Election Commission of India has made a statement on the issue.

Sinha highlighted that the government’s main focus is to safeguard the interests of the poor, and that common people and poor people will not be affected by the ongoing drive against land encroachers in Jammu & Kashmir.
