The J-K administration, led by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, has ordered all deputy commissioners in the Union Territory to clear all encroachments from state-owned land by January 31 and submit a report on compliance.
This includes land that was previously distributed under the Roshni scheme, which was declared illegal by the court two years ago.
Despite pending review petitions on the court’s ruling, the J-K administration has instructed that the recovered Roshni land be returned to the state.
