Man Killed His Brother In Central Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 22 (PK): In a distressing incident in Sail village, Beerwah area of Budgam district, a man has been arrested for allegedly killing his own brother following a heated dispute over an undisclosed issue.

The victim, identified as Sameer Ahmad Rather, was found dead behind his residence on November 20, prompting a swift response from the local authorities.

Upon receiving the information, the police initiated an investigation, involving teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Various suspects, including family members of the deceased, were questioned during the process.

A breakthrough came when Aqib Ahmad Rather, the brother of the victim, reportedly confessed to his involvement in the tragic incident.

According to official statements, Aqib disclosed that a confrontation between him and Sameer occurred during the intervening night of November 19 and 20, ultimately leading to Sameer’s untimely death. The father and sister of the deceased also admitted to their knowledge of Aqib’s role in the incident.

Aqib Ahmad Rather has been arrested, and a comprehensive investigation has been carried out, resulting in the recovery of crucial evidence, including the weapon allegedly used by Aqib in the assault on Sameer.

A case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection with this tragic event.

The authorities continue their efforts to unravel the details surrounding the dispute and subsequent fatality, seeking justice for the victim and his family.
