Srinagar City’s school timings are set to change starting March 1, 2023. The School Education Department of Kashmir has approved a proposal for schools in the city to open at 9:00 AM and close at 2:00 PM.
This decision was made in response to a letter from the Director of School Education in Kashmir and a recommendation from the Traffic Police Organization in Srinagar. Both parties raised concerns about the current school timings, which coincide with peak hours of traffic congestion in the city.
The new timings will be implemented in all schools within the city limits, including private and government schools. The change in timings is expected to alleviate traffic congestion during peak hours and provide a safer environment for students traveling to and from school.
Mohmmad Iqbal Mir, Under Secretary to the Government School Education Department, has conveyed the approval of the department for the change in school timings. The schools are advised to inform the students, parents, and staff about the new timings and ensure that they adhere to the updated schedule.
The School Education Department of Kashmir hopes that this change will bring relief to the traffic situation in Srinagar City and provide a safer environment for students traveling to and from school.
