Shocking Discovery: Man Caught With 57 Lakh Rupees Hidden In Geyser During Checkpoint Search

The police have apprehended a person in the Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district for carrying an excessive amount of cash. This individual was apprehended during a routine checkpoint search and is reported to have been carrying the money concealed in a geyser.

The individual’s name was identified as Syed Irfan Abdullah and is a resident of Laribal, Handwara. His father’s name was given as Mohd Abdullah.

The cash was counted in the presence of a Magistrate and was found to have a total value of rupees 57,43,800. This is a very substantial sum of money and the circumstances of how this individual came to possess it are still under investigation.

The police have taken cognizance of the recovery and have registered an FIR with number 6/2023 under relevant sections to conduct further investigation.
As the investigation is ongoing, it is yet uncertain what the outcome of this case will be, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
