Another avalanche hit the Sarbal area of Sonamarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday, but there were no reports of loss of life or damage.

Work on the Zojila Tunnel has been temporarily suspended by Mega Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) and over 767 workers have been discharged due to bad weather conditions and heavy snowfall.

A low intensity avalanche hit the Sarbal area where Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has a workshop, and no loss of life or property has been reported.

This is the second avalanche in the same area in the last 48 hours. On Thursday, a massive avalanche occurred in Sarbal Sonamarg, resulting in the deaths of two workers of Mega Engineering Infrastructure Limited.
