J&K Bank branch in Achabal, Sopore, has banned the entry of individuals wearing pherans for security reasons. However, the branch head has denied issuing any such order.

It has been reported that a circular from the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch in Achabal, Sopore, has been circulated on social media platforms stating that individuals wearing pherans are not allowed to enter the bank.

“Persons with Pheran are not allowed to enter inside the office/hall. For security reasons,” it reads.

Meanwhile, talking to a local news agency, branch head Anayat Ahmad said there was no such order from the bank unit.

“The poster that has gone viral seems to have been pasted by some miscreants and it has nothing to do with the bank circular,” he said.

The branch head has stated that for security reasons, a circular has been issued prohibiting anyone from entering the bank’s hall.
