Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education to Release Date Sheet for Class 10th to 12th Exams

The Joint Secretary Administration, Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, has told Rising Kashmir that the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education will release a subject-wise date sheet for the upcoming exams for class 10th, 11th, and 12th.

The exams are set to start from 4th March and the date sheet will be issued 15 days prior to the exams. The administration has made arrangements for the exams and the date sheet is being finalized.

Students are demanding clarity amid the confusion surrounding the release of the date sheet for the exams for class 10th, 11th, and 12th by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education. Earlier, Manisha Sarin, Secretary of BOSE, had informed the Kashmir Monitor news agency based in Srinagar that the date sheet would be released within the next two to three days. However, Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, Joint Secretary Administration, stated that the exams would start on March 4th and that the date sheet would be released 15 days prior to the exams.

In an effort to align the academic calendar in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh with the rest of the country, the administration announced a uniform academic calendar last year. This means that the annual examination will be held in March-April instead of October-November. This will be the first time that students in Jammu and Kashmir will take exams in March-April.

A committee was formed to recommend changes to the academic calendar and the theory exams in Jammu and Kashmir are set to take place in the first week of March. In difficult areas, the exams will be delayed and held from the second week of April, when the delivery of examination stationary and confidential material is ensured. The committee noted that even though the difficult areas make up approximately 30-35% of the area in J&K, the total number of students from these areas is only about 10-12%.

As per the Uniform Academic Calendar, students who appear for the Class 10th and 11th exams will be provisionally admitted to Class 11th and 12th respectively after the board exams are conducted. Students who fail to pass the exam will be permitted to continue their studies in Class 11th and 12th until the results of the Biannual/Annual Private exams are declared. If a candidate fails to pass the bi-annual exam, their provisional admission will be cancelled.

In conclusion, the Joint Secretary Administration has confirmed that the arrangements for the exams are in place and the date sheet will be released in the coming days. The students of Jammu and Kashmir are set to take their exams in the month of March-April for the first time, following the implementation of the Uniform Academic Calendar.
