Jammu and Kashmir to Implement Annual Recruitment Calendar to Streamline Hiring Process

In an effort to streamline the recruitment process and ensure transparency, the Jammu and Kashmir government has proposed an annual recruitment calendar for referring vacancies to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) and Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).

The Chief Secretary has directed all departments to undertake the exercise for the current year immediately, ensuring that all vacancies that accrue in the calendar year are referred to the JKSSRB and JKPSC well before the 1st of April each year. The JKSSRB and JKPSC will then notify the referred vacancies for recruitment on the 1st of April every year.

To ensure fairness and accountability, all departments have been asked to report any adverse incidents related to the recruitment process that come to their attention. Additionally, proposals for promotions that need to be referred during the next year to the PSC will be referred immediately so that the PSC may clear them in advance to avoid any backlog. Vigilance clearance will be sought as per rules.

This move is expected to bring much-needed transparency to the recruitment process and ensure that all vacancies are filled in a timely manner, while also preventing any delays or backlogs. The guidelines and regulations in this regard will be formulated and notified by the General Administration Department.
