Jammu and Kashmir, India – In an effort to strengthen the Anti-Infiltration Grid (Tier-II) and bolster border security, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved the creation of 607 new posts. These new positions will be dedicated to the establishment of 42 new Border Police Posts (BPPs) throughout the region.

The initiative was approved in a government order (No. 250-Home of 2023) issued on May 11th, 2023. The order cites several reference letters, including letters from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Police Headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir, which detail the need for increased security measures along the border.

The new posts will be filled by trained professionals, including 39 Sub Inspectors, 50 Assistant Sub Inspectors, 88 Head Constables, and 430 SGCT/Constables. These positions will be filled at varying pay levels, ranging from Level 2 (19900-63200) to Level 6-C (35700-113100).

The creation of these new positions is expected to have a significant impact on border security in the region. In recent years, Jammu and Kashmir has seen an increase in border infiltrations and other security threats.
