Kashmir University to Introduce Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for Undergraduate Admissions in Affiliated Colleges
The University of Kashmir is set to implement the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions in its affiliated colleges from the current academic session. The move is in line with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and the National Education Policy-2020.
As per the announcement made by the Vice-Chancellor of KU, Prof Nilofer Khan, the detailed admission notification for various undergraduate programmes will be available on the Kashmir University website from March 6, 2023. The CUET, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will provide a single-window opportunity for students to seek admission in any of the universities across the country.
Admissions will be granted on the basis of the merit obtained in the CUET. Eligible students have been advised to register themselves with the NTA as per the instructions available on its website. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination with required eligibility are eligible to apply. Those who are scheduled to take the exam in March-April 2023 can also apply with the condition that they will be granted admission only after acquiring the requisite eligibility.
The last date for online submission of application forms is March 12, 2023, until 9 pm, while the last date for a successful transaction of fee through Credit, Debit, or NET-Banking is also March 12, 2023, till 11:50 pm. The correction in particulars can be made from March 15 to 18, 2023, until 11.50 pm, and the announcement date for the City of Examination is April 30, 2023.
The CUET will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT), and the admit cards can be downloaded from the NTA website in the second week of May 2023. The date of examination is scheduled for May 21, 2023, onwards.
The introduction of CUET for undergraduate admissions in Kashmir University’s affiliated colleges is a step towards providing a standardized admission process, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities for all students.
