The National Scholarships Portal (NSP) is a centralized platform that streamlines the process of scholarship application, receipt, processing, sanction, and disbursement for students. It is a key project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) initiative.

The Right to Education Act, 2009 makes it mandatory for the government to provide free and compulsory education to all children between classes I to VIII. In line with this act, the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme provided by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs is only available to students studying in classes IX and X. From the academic year 2022-23, the coverage of the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs will also be limited to classes IX and X.

In light of this, the Institute Nodal Officer (INO), District Nodal Officer (DNO), and State Nodal Officer (SNO) will only verify applications for classes IX and X under the Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

To log in to the NSP portal, students must follow these simple steps:

Visit the official NSP website or click on the direct link provided.
Click on the ‘Login’ button under the Application Form tab.
Select the ‘Fresh 2022-23’ option.
Students will be redirected to a new page.
Enter their Application ID, password, and the CAPTCHA code displayed next to the slot.
Finally, click on the ‘Login’ button to access their account.

To check the status of your scholarship application on the National Scholarships Portal (NSP), follow these steps:

Click on the ‘Login’ button under the Application Form tab.
Enter your Application ID, password, and the CAPTCHA code displayed on the screen.
Once you have logged in, you will see an option to view the status of your scholarship application.
The status of your scholarship will be updated regularly and you can check for the latest information at any time. Some common status updates include:

Application Received: This means that your application has been received by the portal and is being processed.

Under Process: Your application is being reviewed and processed by the relevant authorities.

Approved: Your scholarship has been approved and you will receive the funds soon.

Rejected: Your application has been rejected due to some error or missing information.

Disbursed: Your scholarship funds have been disbursed and you can access them.
