Cricketers Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik have come under fire from some fans in India for declining to have Tilak applied to their forehead. Tilak is a Hindu tradition used in India to welcome guests, but in a viral video, Siraj and Malik are seen asking hotel staff not to put Tilak on them. Despite this, even the batting coach, Vikram Rathour, and a support staff member also declined the tradition.
Despite the criticism they have faced, Siraj and Malik’s recent performance on the cricket field is what many fans are focusing on now.

Siraj will be playing in the first Test match at Nagpur and is expected to be a key player for India. With Jasprit Bumrah unavailable for the first two Tests, Siraj and Mohammed Shami will have to take on extra responsibility to provide India with breakthroughs. In 15 Tests that he has played, Siraj has taken 46 wickets with one five-wicket haul to his name.
Fans still remember Siraj’s impressive performance during India’s 2020-21 tour of Australia. Despite losing key players to injury, Siraj helped lead India to a 2-1 victory despite a loss in the first match at Adelaide where they were bowled out for just 36 runs. The focus now is on Siraj’s performance in the upcoming Test series against Australia.Facebook or follow us on Twitter and Instagram. Subscribe us on Telegram and never miss a update!
