WhatsApp is reportedly creating a feature called “Chat Transfer” that allows users to move their chat data from one Android device to another using a local network.

As per WABetaInfo, this feature is currently being developed and will be included in a future update of the app.

To use Chat Transfer, users will scan a QR code to initiate the transfer of their chat history to a new device.

Chat Transfer will eliminate the need for users to back up their chat data to a cloud service like Google Drive in order to transfer it to a new device.

WhatsApp has launched a proxy support feature for users globally, including those in Iran, to facilitate secure and private communication. The feature allows users to connect to WhatsApp through servers set up by volunteers and organizations dedicated to supporting free communication.

According to the Head of WhatsApp, Will Cathcart, the purpose of this feature is to give users the power to restore access to the app when a connection is blocked.
