WhatsApp Introduces Chat Locking Feature

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, is set to release an update that will allow users to lock their chats with a passcode or fingerprint. The feature, which is still under development, provides an extra layer of privacy for confidential conversations.

In the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.8.5 update, users can now manage their locked chats from within the app. They can choose which chats to lock by accessing the chat info section and selecting the lock option. Locked chats will appear in the “Locked chats” section of the app, with an entry point located within the chat list.

The chat locking feature will also prompt users to clear the chat in case of unauthorized access attempts. This will enhance privacy and prevent any media files, such as photos and videos, from being automatically saved to the device’s gallery.

The feature is still in development and will be released in a future update of the app. WhatsApp has not yet announced when this update will be available to the public.

The ability to lock chats is a highly requested feature among WhatsApp users, especially for those who use the app for work or other confidential conversations. With the introduction of this feature, users can now enjoy an added level of security and privacy in their conversations.

WhatsApp has been working on several new features in recent months, including the ability to transfer chat history between iOS and Android devices. The company continues to innovate and improve its platform, making it one of the most popular messaging apps in the world.
