WhatsApp Introduces New Features for Status Updates

WhatsApp has recently published a blog post to announce a series of new features aimed at enhancing the user experience and providing more privacy options. The new features include the following:

Private Audience Selector: Enhanced Privacy for Status Updates – Users can now choose who can view their status updates, giving them more control over their privacy. The Private Audience Selector feature provides a quick and easy way for users to customize their experience and share updates privately and securely with only the people they choose.

Voice Status: Sharing Voice Notes on Status” – With the Voice Status feature, users can easily share voice notes up to 30 seconds long on their status. This feature was introduced in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.8 and WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.2.0.70 updates and is now available to beta testers.

Status Reactions: Show Your Emotional Response – The Status Reactions feature enables users to react to status updates with various emojis, including Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points. This feature was introduced after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.24 update.

Status Profile Rings for New Updates: Stay Up-to-Date” – With the Status Profile Rings for New Updates feature, users can easily see if there is any new status update in their chat list. This feature was introduced after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.19.17 update.

Link Previews on Status: Share Rich Link Previews” – The Link Previews on Status feature allows users to share rich link previews when sharing a link as a text status update. This feature was announced in the official changelog of WhatsApp for iOS 22.22.75 update from the App Store.

These features are available on WhatsApp for both Android and iOS, as well as on Desktop. To access them, users should update their app from the App Store or Google Play. If a user does not have access to one or more of these features, they can expect to receive them in a future update.
