Weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, possibility of rain and thunderstorms

The Meteorological Department has issued an update on the weather conditions for Jammu and Kashmir. As per the latest report, the weather is generally cloudy in the northwestern regions of Kashmir, Poonch, Rajouri, etc., and partly cloudy in the rest of the places.

Today, there is a possibility of a brief spell of rain and thunderstorms in Kupwara, Poonch, Rajouri, and Baramulla during the next one to two hours. The day is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, and a brief spell of rain or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out towards late afternoon or evening.

From 6 to 8 May, the weather is predicted to be rainy in many places. Therefore, people are advised to keep warm clothes ready as the weather is going to be cold until 8th May.

In addition, farmers are advised to avoid spraying apple trees and harvesting crops in the Jammu region during 6-8th May as the chances of rain are high. This precaution will help to minimize crop damage due to the predicted rainfall.
