NTA Invites Online Applications for NEET (UG) 2023 for Undergraduate Medical Courses

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently announced the commencement of online applications for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] 2023. NEET (UG) is a common and uniform entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions in India. The online submission of the application form will be open from 06 March to 06 April 2023, until 09:00 PM.

NEET (UG) 2023 is being conducted as per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, for admission to undergraduate courses in BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine. It is also applicable for admission to BHMS courses as per the National Commission for Homeopathy Act, 2020.

The entrance test will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology), with 50 questions in each subject divided into two sections (A and B). The duration of the examination will be 200 minutes (03 hours 20 minutes), from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time), and shall be uniform for all candidates.

NEET (UG) 2023 will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Military Nursing Service (MNS) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Course being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2023 are required to qualify NEET. The NEET score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.

Candidates belonging to the General category will have to pay Rs. 1700/- for centers in India, while the fee for candidates from General-EWS/ OBC-NCL category is Rs. 1600/- for centers in India and Rs. 9500/- for centers outside India. SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender candidates will have to pay Rs. 1000/-. Processing charges and Goods and Services Tax (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.

The last date of a successful transaction of the fee through Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI is 06 April 2023, until 11:50 PM. The announcement of the city of examination and downloading of admit cards from the NTA website will be intimated later.
